Biography
Nadine Coyle is a British singer in the British girl band Girls Aloud. Nadine Coyle is also known by the nicknames Nadz or Diney.
Nadine Elizabeth Louise Coyle was born on June 15, 1985 in Derry, Northern Ireland. Nadine had her first tryst with fame in 2001 when she took part in the Irish version of the talent show Popstars. She was in school at the time and just 16 while the minimum age for entry was 18. She went on to be one of the winners in the show and was selected to be a member of the band Six. In an interview after all the band members had shifted into a house together, Coyle was candid in giving her personal information. She also gave the right date of birth. After the slip of the tongue, she suddenly stopped in the interview and whispered, "What date of birth did I give...?". That surely gave her away but she tried to maintain that she had just made a mistake about the date, but off camera, she broke down and confessed that she was just 16 and had lied about her age.
Nadine then had to be dropped from the band despite protests from other band members that she should be allowed to stay. However, the band Six went on to release their first single Whole Lot Of Loving which became the fastest-selling single in Irish history. After another single Let Me Be The One, the band soon disappeared from the pop scene.
But there was more to be seen of Nadine. In 2002, Nadine at the age of 18, came back to enter the UK version of the talent show Popstars: The Rivals. She soon became the highlight of the show with a stunning rendition of Fields Of Gold. She was the hot favorite through the show and her songs, Show Me Heaven, When I Fall In Love and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, consistently received the some of the highest number of votes. She was one of the winners and was selected to become a member of the band Girls Aloud along with her friend Kimberley Walsh. The other members of the band are Cheryl Tweedy, Sarah Harding, and Nicola Roberts.
Nadine is the lead singer of the band and is often known as the "the voice" of the band. The first single from the band Sound of the Underground/Stay Another Day (2002) became a big hit selling as many as 213,000 copies and became the fastest debut to hit number one. In May 2003, Girls Aloud released another single, No Good Advice, as well as their debut album Sound of the Underground. Both debuted at number two on the British pop charts.
With three platinum albums, Girls Aloud is seen as the next big thing after Spice Girls. Nadine with her good looks and as the voice of the band is set to be a star.
