Biography
Paris Hilton is the co-heiress along with her three siblings to the Hilton hotels and estate. She is quite famous on the party circuit and is constantly in the media. She is also a model, actress, and singer.
Paris Whitney Hilton was born on February 17, 1981 in New York City with a silver spoon. She lived in the costliest neighborhoods and studied at many prestigious schools including the Dwight School in New York. She however dropped out and obtained her GED after home-schooling. She didn't attend college but attended numerous parties to become famous.
In 2000, Paris started modeling and was soon seen in fashion shows of designers such as Marc Bouwer and Catherine Malandrino. Paris also posed for many magazines including For Him Magazine, GQ, and Vanity Fair.
Besides posing for magazines and appearing in spreads, Paris always used to be in the press. She provided enough fodder for the tabloids and gossip magazines with her relationships and bizarre acts such as going topless or dancing top of bar banquettes. She has been linked to many celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley, Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys, tennis player Mark Philippoussis, oil heir Brandon Davis, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos III, and ex-MTV VJ Simon Rex. She has also been seen making out with lesbian Ingrid Casares.
In 2002, Paris was engaged to model Jason Shaw but broke up in 2003. In 2005, she got engaged to Paris Latsis, a Greek shipping heir but called it off five months later.
In 2001, Paris started her acting career with a cameo role in Ben Stiller's fashion satire, Zoolander. She has also acted in QIK2JDG (2002), Nine Lives (2002), Wonderland (2003), The Hillz (2004), Raising Helen (2004), and House of Wax (2005).
However, it was television that made Paris a household name. In 2003, she starred along with her friend and heiress, Nicole Richie in the reality show The Simple Life. The show had them living out on a farm with a family without their cell phones, credit cards, and the cushion of their sheltered, luxurious life. The show became a big hit partly due to a sex tape posted on the Internet by her ex-boyfriend, Rick Salomon. There have been allegations that the video was part of a publicity campaign. It sure did wonders for Paris. There have been many sequels to the reality show The Simple Life.
In 2004, Paris created Heiress Records, a sub-label of Warner Brothers Records. She released her debut album, Paris in 2006. Its single Stars Are Blind peaked at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Paris has designed purses, launched a perfume and watch collection, co-written a book, and started a chain of nightclubs, Club Paris. Paris has tried to assert her identity with her multiple ventures and adventures and has succeeded.
