Videos more videos Biography Aaron Carter, an American rap singer, was born in Tampa, Florida on December 7, 1987 and has a twin sister, Angel, born just a minute before. Aaron Carter was known as the Little Prince of Pop when he started singing at 7 as the lead singer of the band "Dead End". His brother, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, has been a strong influence in shaping his career. In March 1997, he got his big break when he made his first solo appearance opening for the Backstreet Boys in Berlin. His energy and charm won over the crowd. Right after the concert, he got a record contract and his first single, Crush On You was released when he was just 10. The same year, his first self-titled album was released which became gold in Norway, Spain, Denmark, Canada, and Germany. It was released in the United States in June 1998. In May 18, 1998, Aaron Carter released a fund-raising project called Let The Music Heal Your Soul. Apart from vocals by Aaron, it also featured the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, the Moffatts, and other artists. He also released a single, Surfin USA, a remake of the Beach Boys song. Aaron Carter had a single on the Pokemon: The First Movie soundtrack. He did opening performances for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. He also appeared on Nickelodeon. This was followed by his third album, Aaron's Party (2000) released in the United States under the Jive Label. It included hit songs, Iko Iko, My Internet Girl, and The Clapping Song. The album sold more than 1.5 million copies in the United States and got triple-platinum certification. Since then, he hasn't looked back and has given hit after hit. In 2001, Aaron recorded the album Oh, Aaron featuring a duet recording with his brother Nick. It includes hit songs I'm All About You, Oh Aaron, and The Kid In You. Play Along Toys created an Aaron Carter action toy along with the album's release. In the same year, he also received the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards 2001 - Favorite Breakout Star and Teen Choice Awards 2001 - Choice Male Artist of the Year. In 2002, Aaron's fourth album, Another Earthquake was released during the Rock, Rap, and Retro tour. It included the patriotic-themed America A. O. and the ballad Do You Remember. In 2003, a collection of his hits called Most Requested Hits was released. It also had a new single, One Better. Being a pop sensation took its toll on Aaron Carter's personal life. Aaron Carter allegedly uses drugs and spends $1,500 to $2,000 on drugs every month. In 2003, he filed for legal emancipation from his mother, alleging she had taken more than a million dollars from his account without permission. Their differences were finally resolved but since his parents' divorce, he chose to live with his father. 2005 saw Aaron starring in a film, Popstar. Its soundtrack featured his song Saturday Night. Popstar wasn't Aaron's first film. He made his feature film debut in a cameo in the 2004 comedy, Fat Albert. The story of this teenage singer, dancer, and actor has just begun.
