Videos more videos Biography Elizabeth Hurley is an English actress and fashion model. She is best-known for her roles as the devil in Bedazzled and as Vanessa Kensington in Austin Powers. Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born on June 10, 1965 in Hampshire, England. Her father was an army officer and her mother, an elementary schoolteacher. As a child, Elizabeth wanted to be a dancer and took ballet lessons. When she was 12, she won a scholarship at a boarding school specializing in ballet. However, she went through a punk makeover and was soon expelled from the school for poor grades. In 1987, Elizabeth made her film debut with the film Aria. That year, she also worked in the film Remando al viento (Rowing In the Wind) opposite Hugh Grant, with whom she had a long-term relationship. In 1988, Elizabeth starred as Christabel Bielenberg in the BBC miniseries, Christabel. She received critical acclaim for her performance. In 1992, Elizabeth played a terrorist in the Hollywood action film Passenger 57 opposite Wesley Snipes. Elizabeth has also worked in the British television series Rumpole of the Bailey and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles produced by George Lucas. In 1994, Elizabeth became famous with her appearance with Hugh Grant at the 1994 London premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral starring Hugh Grant. She wore a low-cut, black Versace dress held together by gold safety pins and became the cynosure of all eyes at the premiere. Elizabeth received a lot of footage in the media for her appearance and became a celebrity of sorts. Soon in 1995, Elizabeth was signed by Estée Lauder to be its spokesperson. She and Hugh Grant also gained a lot of media attention when Grant was arrested for being with a prostitute Divine Brown. However, the episode did not affect their relationship and they went on to found a production company Simian Films. The first film from the company was the thriller Extreme Measures (1996) starring Hugh, Gene Hackman and Sarah Jessica Parker followed by another Hugh Grant film, Mickey Blue Eyes in 1999. In 2004, Elizabeth produced Method in which she starred. The company closed shop in 2006. In 1997, Elizabeth made a name for herself with Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery playing the role of agent Vanessa Kensington opposite Mike Myers. Elizabeth then did several films including Permanent Midnight (1998) and My Favorite Martian (1999), EDtv (1999) and Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), The Weight of Water (2000), Bad Boy (2002), and the comedy Serving Sara (2002) opposite Matthew Perry. The most notable among these was her appearance in 2000 as the devil in Bedazzled. Elizabeth and Hugh Grant split in 2000 after more than a decade. Elizabeth then had a relationship with millionaire movie producer Stephen Bing and in 2002, gave birth to a son, Damian Charles. Bing denied being the father but DNA testing proved him wrong. In 2003, Elizabeth became involved with Indian textile icon Arun Nayar.
