Videos more videos Biography Katherine Moss was born on January 16th, 1974 in Addiscombe, England. She attended Ridgeway Primary School and then Riddlesdown High School. She was athletic and enjoyed sports. When she was fourteen she was spotted by the founder of Storm Modeling Agency, Sarah Doukas in JFK Airport in NYC. The following year Kate appeared on the cover of The Face Magazine. Her figure and attitude was decidedly different from that of the top models of the 1990's. She represented the rebellious Waif persona and she was quickly in very high demand. She became well known in the United States after landing an endorsement deal with Calvin Klein. Kate appeared in countless print and television ads for the fashion giant during the 1990's. Her career continued to soar and she was soon a runway model in addition to her print work. She worked for nearly every top designer including: Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Chanel, Missoni, Donna Karen and many more. She has appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine over twenty-three times since beginning her career and on over seventeen covers of W. In September of 2005 Kate was photographed using cocaine by The Daily Mirror. This later led to several companies dropping her from their ad campaigns. She had many supporters during this time which included many designers, photographers and even her ex-boyfriend, Johnny Depp. She sought drug treatment and issued a public apology and the incident soon blew over. Despite losing a few endorsements, she is currently working quite steadily and continues to appear in print, television and runway shows. On the personal front she has been involved with many high profile men including the above mentioned Johnny Depp, as well as, Mario Sorrenti, who shot her in the nude for the Calvin Klein campaign, Dan Macmillan and Lemonhead musician Evan Dando. She had her first child, Lila Grace, in September of 2002 with Dazed & Confused editor Jefferson Hack. The couple split in early 2004. Kate Moss continues to be a fashion favorite, outliving most of her contemporaries in the field with a career that has spanned over thirteen years. She is one of the wealthiest models in Britain and is considered a fashion icon. Tidbits
